The seventh king of the Konbaung dynasty of Burma (present-day Myanmar). Reigned 1819-37. Grandson of the previous king, Bodawpaya. Known as the Prince of Sagaing, he was granted the Sagaing region as a fief. He ascended to the throne upon the death of his grandfather in 1819, built a palace in the ancient capital of Aba, and moved the capital there in 1823. As the Governor of Manipur did not attend the coronation ceremony, he appointed Mahabandula as commander to pursue the rebels, and the governors of Manipur and Assam fled to Cachar, so in 1824 the Burmese army advanced to Cachar via Jaintia.

コンバウン朝ビルマ(現ミャンマー)の第7代国王。在位1819‐37年。先王ボードーパヤーの孫。封土としてサガイン地方を下賜されていたことからサガイン侯とよばれていた。1819年祖父の死とともに即位，古都アバに王城を築いて23年に遷都した。即位式の時マニプル太守が列席しなかったため，マハーバンドゥーラを司令官に任じて追討させ，マニプルやアッサムの太守がカチャールに亡命したため，24年ビルマ軍はジャインティアを経由してカチャールに進撃した。
