Toyosato

Japanese: 豊里 - とよさと

This is the former town area in the southern part of Tome City, in the northeastern part of Miyagi Prefecture. It is located in the southeastern part of the Senboku Plain. It was incorporated as a town in 1950. In 2005, it merged with the eight towns of Sako, Tome, Towa, Nakata, Yoneyama, Ishigoe, Minamikata, and Tsuyama to form Tome City. In the southern part, the old Kitakami River (→ Kitakami River) and the Sako River join together, forming a rice paddy area. In addition to rice cultivation, pig farming is also carried out. The central area, Akōtsu, is a settlement formed by reclamation from 1667 to 1683, and at that time there were 150 servant houses and 50 foot soldiers' houses.

Toyosato

In the southwest of Ibaraki Prefecture, at the southwest foot of Mount Tsukuba (877m), this is an area of Tsukuba City. It was formerly the name of a town. In 1987, it was merged with neighboring towns and villages to form Tsukuba City. Field farming is practiced here, and the eastern part is Tsukuba Science City.

宮城県北東部，登米市南部の旧町域。仙北平野の南東部にある。 1950年町制。 2005年迫町，登米町，東和町，中田町，米山町，石越町，南方町，津山町の8町と合体して登米市となった。南部で旧北上川 (→北上川 ) と迫川が合流，水田地帯を形成。米作のほか，養豚が行なわれる。中心地区の赤生津 (あこうつ) は寛文7 (1667) 年から天和3 (1683) 年まで開墾によってできた集落で，当時は奉公人屋敷 150戸，足軽屋敷 50戸があった。
