A manor in Naga County, Kii Province. The area is centered around Nakatomo-buchi in Kinokawa City, Wakayama Prefecture. Also called Tomobuchisono, it was the property of Yamashiro Iwashimizu Hachiman-gu Temple during the Heian and Kamakura periods, and was the property of Mount Koya after the Northern and Southern Courts. At Tomobuchi Hachiman Shrine in Nakatomo-buchi, a portable shrine (national treasure) that was sent from Iwashimizu Hachiman-gu in 1228 still remains. Around the time it became the property of Mount Koya, violent armed conflicts broke out between the Geshi (lower rank) Tomobuchi clan and the peasants who were strengthening their ties with the So (general authority), and the peasants began to flee repeatedly, but the chaos ended when Mount Koya began to expel the Geshi. According to an inspection in 1428, the total area was over 41 cho. Source : Heibonsha Encyclopedia About MyPedia Information |
