Iyo Onsen - Iyo no Yu

Japanese: 伊予温湯 - いよのゆ
Iyo Onsen - Iyo no Yu

...It is said to be the oldest hot spring in Japan. It is called Iyo no Yu or Nigitatsu no Iwayu, and in the Iyo no Kuni Fudoki (a fragment of the topography of Iyo Province) there is a story that Sukunabikona (Sukunabikona) was cured of his illness in this hot spring, and that Prince Shotoku, who visited the hot spring, erected a monument (Iyo Dogo Onsen Monument) on Yuoka, or Isaniwa no Oka. The Manyoshu contains a long poem by Yamabe no Akahito about this hot spring, and the word "Iyo no Yugeta" appears in the Tale of Genji, so it has been a famous hot spring since ancient times.
