Tomb of Prince Itoku

Japanese: 懿徳太子墓 - いとくたいしぼ

Prince Yide, Li Chongjun, was the eldest son of Emperor Zhongzong of Tang, and his tomb lies southeast of Emperor Gaozong's Qianling Mausoleum. The tomb is square, measuring 56.7m north to south, 55m east to west, and 17.92m high, with stone lions, stone figures, and stone floral inscriptions erected to the south of the earthen quare. The interior of the tomb consists of a passageway, an anterior chamber, and a posterior chamber with a stone coffin. Many Tang sancai wares of horses and men have been discovered, and the 40 murals are particularly important. The murals include a quare tower on the west wall of the passageway, a picture of a game of polo, and a group of men and women. Li Chongjun was framed for a crime at the age of 19 and executed by order of Empress Wu Zetian, but was later reburied by Emperor Zhongzong in 706 (Shenlong 2).

懿徳太子，李重潤は唐中宗の長子であり，高宗の乾陵の南東にその墓がある。墓は方形で，南北56.7m，東西55m，高さ17.92mをはかり，土闕の南に石の獅子，石人，石の華表がたてられている。墓の内部は墓道，前室および石槨のある後室よりなる。唐三彩の人馬の明器が多く発見されたほか，特に40幅をかぞえる壁画は重要である。壁画には墓道西壁の闕楼の図や，馬球(ポロ)をうつ図，また男女の群像がある。李重潤は19歳で罪を構えられて則天武后の命により杖殺されたが，その後706年(神竜2)中宗によって改葬された。
