Japanese: 十三湊 - とさみなと

A medieval port formed on Lake Jusan at the mouth of the Tsugaru Iwaki River. It corresponds to the current village of Shiura in Aomori Prefecture (now Goshogawara City). It was developed from the end of the Heian period as a port connecting Ezo with the Sea of Japan, and after being ruled by the Hojo clan in the Kamakura period, it became the base of the Ando clan, who called themselves the "Shogun of Jusanminato Hinomoto." It was devastated by a great tsunami in 1340 but was rebuilt. It is listed as one of the three and seven ports in the colophon of the "Kaisen Shikimoku," but fell into decline in the early modern period. Recent excavations have uncovered remains and artefacts from that time.

津軽(つがる)岩木川河口の十三(じゅうさん)湖に形成された中世の港。現在の青森県市浦(しうら)村（現・五所川原市）にあたる。蝦夷地と日本海を結ぶ港として平安末期から整備され，鎌倉期の北条氏の支配を経て，〈十三湊日之本(ひのもと)将軍〉と称した安東（安藤）氏の本拠地となった。1340年大津波によって壊滅的被害を受けたが復興。《廻船式目》奥書の三津七湊の中にも挙げられるが，近世に入って衰微。近年，発掘調査によって往時の遺構や遺物が発見されている。
