Color rendering

If the spectral distribution of the light emitted by a light source is different, the color of an illuminated object will appear different. This property is called the color rendering of the light source. For example, a warm-colored object such as meat will appear vivid when illuminated with an incandescent light bulb that contains a lot of red-yellow light, but will appear dark when illuminated with a fluorescent light bulb that contains a lot of blue light. Therefore, a number called the average color rendering index is used to indicate the degree of color rendering, and it is one index of the performance of lighting light sources. In addition, standard light sources are specified by the International Commission on Illumination (CIE) to determine color names, and color names are usually determined by visually comparing standard color charts under illumination with a C light source that is close to average daylight.
