Japanese: 戸倉[町] - とぐら

A former town in Hanishina County in the Chikuma River basin in northern Nagano Prefecture. The city center was a former post town on the Hokkoku Kaido road. In the mid-Meiji period, Tokura Onsen (simple sulfur spring, 40-60°C) was discovered, and it developed into a hot spring town connected to Kamiyamada Onsen. The third-sector Shinano Railway runs through the town. Apple and persimmon cultivation is thriving. Mount Kamuriki, also known as Mount Obasute, is located here. In September 2003, Sarashina City merged with Kamiyamada Town in Sarashina County to form Chikuma City. 25.23 ^km2 . Population 18,497 (2003).

長野県北部，千曲川流域の埴科(はにしな)郡の旧町。中心市街は北国街道の旧宿場町で，明治中期戸倉温泉（単純硫黄泉，40〜60℃）が開湯，上山田温泉と地続きの温泉町に発展。第三セクターしなの鉄道が通じる。リンゴ・花卉(かき)栽培が盛ん。姨捨(おばすて)山で知られる冠着(かむりき)山がある。2003年９月更埴市，更級郡上山田町と合併し，千曲市となる。25.23km²。１万8497人（2003）。
