Tokuyama Bay

Japanese: 徳山湾 - とくやまわん
Tokuyama Bay

An inlet located almost in the center of the Seto Inland Sea coast of Yamaguchi Prefecture. A beautiful bay surrounded by the Oshima Peninsula and Otsushima Island in Shunan City, it was an important naval port until World War II. Currently, a huge petrochemical complex with the largest shipping volume in the prefecture has developed along the bay area, and Tokuyama Kudamatsu Port has been designated an international hub port, with annual trade volume accounting for approximately 30% of the entire prefecture. Mount Taika on the Oshima Peninsula, Kurokami Island in the bay, and Otsushima Island are part of the Seto Inland Sea National Park.
