Cumisctin (English spelling)

Japanese: クミスクチン(英語表記)cumisctin
Cumisctin (English spelling)
A perennial plant of the Lamiaceae family. It is called Kumis (beard) Kuching (cat) in Malay because the long extending stamens look like cat whiskers, and is also known as Neko no Hige in Japanese. It grows to a height of 30cm to 2m. The stem is a square column shape, and the base is slightly woody. It has opposite ovate, sawtoothed leaves, and a raceme inflorescence at the top of the stem, which bears flowers in a ring shape in several tiers, blooming successively from the bottom up. The corolla is white or purplish, 1-1.5cm long, and has four stamens that protrude about 2cm from the corolla.
