A humorous piece from the Western Han Dynasty in China, written by Wang Bao. The story is about a man who, upon buying a slave, writes out a list of duties for the slave, which gradually makes the slave feel depressed. It is also a valuable source of information on the employment patterns of powerful clans at the time.
