Tenmazuka - Heavenly Horse Tomb

Japanese: 天馬塚 - てんまづか

A wooden coffin tomb from Silla during the Three Kingdoms period in Gyeongju, South Korea. It is a circular tomb with a base diameter of about 56 meters and a height of 12.7 meters, and was named after the Pegasus painting on the birch bark screen that was excavated. A golden crown, earrings, bracelets, rings, a belt, a waist strap, a gilt bronze ring-headed sword, and gilt bronze decorative sandals were excavated from the coffin, and numerous ornaments, weapons, horse equipment, and various containers were also excavated from inside the coffin. It is a royal tomb and is thought to date to around the first half of the 6th century.

韓国（大韓民国）、慶州市にある三国時代新羅(しらぎ)の積石木槨墳(つみいしもっかくふん)。底径約56メートル、高さ12.7メートルの円墳で、出土したシラカバ樹皮製障泥(あおり)に描かれた天馬図から名称がつけられた。棺内から金製冠、耳飾り、釧(くしろ)、指輪、銙帯(かたい)、腰佩(ようはい)や金銅装環頭大刀(かんとうたち)、金銅飾履(しょくり)などが着装された状態で出土し、槨内から装身具、武器、馬具、各種容器類が多数出土した。王陵級の古墳で、ほぼ6世紀前葉ごろを中心とした年代と考えられる。
