This is the most famous of I. Kant's series of treatises on natural philosophy, and was written in 1755. The subtitle is "An Essay on the Organization and Mechanical Origin of the Structure of the Universe, Explained According to Newton's Principles." Kant focused on the characteristics of the current solar system, namely the commonality of the orbits of the planets and moons, and the direction and surface of the sun's rotation, and argued that these could not be the result of chance, and attempted to deduce that the solar system was inevitably generated by the action of Newton's law of universal gravitation from the original state of chaotic material particles.
