A kingdom in Uganda, East Africa. In 1898, the British placed the Nkore (Nkole) Kingdom in southwestern Uganda under their protectorate, and by 1914, they had added the neighboring small kingdoms of Buhweju, Buzimba, and Igala to form the new Ankole Kingdom. The Nkole Kingdom originated from the Batchewezi dynasty of the Kitara Kingdom, which once ruled a vast area from western Uganda to western Tanzania in the 14th and 15th centuries. The first king of Nkore, Ruhinda, is said to be the son of Walara, the last king of Batchewezi, and ruled the entire area of western Uganda.

東アフリカのウガンダにあった王国。1898年にイギリスは南西ウガンダのヌコーレNkore(Nkole)王国を保護下におき，以後1914年までに近隣のブフウェジュ，ブジンバ，イガラなどの小国を加えて新しいアンコーレAnkole王国をつくった。ヌコーレ王国は，かつて14～15世紀に西ウガンダからタンザニア西部にわたる広大な地域を支配したキタラ王国バチュウェジ王朝に端を発する。ヌコーレ初代の王ルヒンダはバチュウェジ最後の王ワララの子とされ，西ウガンダ一帯の地を支配した。
