A Dravidian language and one of the official languages of India. Telugu. It is mainly spoken in the state of Andhra Pradesh in southern India. The oldest document is an inscription from 633. It developed as a language influenced by Sanskrit literature. It is written in the Telugu script, which is a descendant of the southern Brahmi script.
