This refers to Japanese paper produced in Ehime Prefecture (Iyo Province). Examples include improved washi paper and imitation washi paper made primarily from Mitsumata trees grown in the upper reaches of the Yoshino River, senka paper (a thick paper made of two sheets of paper) made from paper mulberry that is said to have been invented by Senka Koji during the Tensho period (1573-92), Ozu washi paper made using the hosho technique introduced from Echizen during the Genroku period (1688-1704), and Saijo hosho paper used in ukiyo-e prints that is said to have been made by the Saijo Domain after learning the technique from Tosa during the Tenpo period (1830-44). 愛媛県 (伊予国) に産する和紙類をいう。吉野川上流に産するミツマタを主原料にした改良半紙や模造半紙,泉貨居士が天正年間 (1573~92) に工夫したといわれるコウゾを原料とした泉貨紙 (2枚合せの厚紙) ,元禄年間 (1688~1704) に越前から導入した奉書の技術による大洲半紙,天保年間 (1830~44) に土佐から技術を修得し西条藩ですきはじめたといわれる浮世絵に用いられた西条奉書などがある。
