Position specificity

In organic chemical reactions, this refers to the case where only one structural isomer (positional isomer) is produced and no other isomers are produced. When the production of one isomer is more favorable than the production of other isomers, it is said that there is position selectivity. In fact, position specificity is often used synonymously with position selectivity. Below, we will explain with an example. (1) Elimination reaction (chemical formula) C ₆ H ₅ SO ₃ When H is eliminated to produce a cyclohexene ring, of the two possible products (A) and (B), the one that is stabilized by resonance due to the double bond being conjugated with the benzene ring is produced specifically (selectively).

有機化学反応において，一つの構造異性体(位置異性体)だけが生成し，他の異性体が生成しない場合をいう。一つの異性体の生成が他の異性体の生成より有利である場合を位置選択性position selectivityがあるという。実際には位置特異性を位置選択性と同義に用いる場合も多い。以下，例をあげて説明する。(1)脱離反応(化学式)C₆H₅SO₃Hが脱離してシクロヘキセン環が生成する際，(A)(B)二つの可能な生成物のうち，二重結合がベンゼン環と共役して共鳴安定化したものが特異(選択)的に生じる。
