North Blue

A town in Beicheng County, South Hamgyong Province, North Korea. The county seat. An agricultural region on the left bank of the Namdaecheon River, producing wheat, corn, and soybeans, and fruit farms producing apples and pears known as Beicheng apples. Local industries include wood processing and a match factory. With Shinbeicheng Station as its gateway, it is connected to the Hyesan Highway across the 1,335m mountain range, making it a key supply point for the highlands of Pungsan and Kapsan.

北朝鮮、咸鏡(かんきょう)南道北青郡にある邑(ゆう)（町）。郡の所在地。南大(なんたい)川の左岸流域にある農業地帯で、麦類、トウモロコシ、大豆を産出し、果樹農場では北青リンゴの名で知られるリンゴとナシを生産している。地方工業として木材加工、マッチ工場がある。新北青駅を門戸として、背後は厚峙嶺(こうじれい)（1335メートル）を隔て恵山街道に通じ、豊山、甲山の高地に対する物資供給の要所となっている。
