A national hero who resisted the invasion of the French army in northern Vietnam from the late 19th century to the early 20th century. His real name was Hoang Hoa Tham. De (Di) is an abbreviation of Admiral. After the Van Thanh (Literary) Uprising in 1885, large and small anti-French right-wing militias controlled the trade routes in the northern mountainous region and confronted the French army for a long time. De Tham was a poor peasant from Son Tay, and became the leader of the right-wing militias that rose up in Yen Te, forming the largest anti-French base, while also actively attacking the railway between Hanoi and Lang Son and French military posts.

19世紀末から20世紀初頭にかけて，北部ベトナムでフランス軍の侵略に抗した民族英雄。本名はホアン･ホア･タムHoang Hoa Tham(黄花探)。デ(提)は提督の略称。1885年のバンタン(文紳)蜂起後，北部山地では大小の抗仏義軍が通商路を制してフランス軍と長期に対峙していた。デ･タムはソンタイの貧農出身で，イェンテに蜂起した義軍の長となり，最大の反仏根拠地を形成する一方，盛んにハノイ～ランソン間の鉄道やフランス軍哨所を襲った。
