The world's largest semiconductor manufacturer, located in the United States. Also active in fields such as electronic equipment and geological surveys. Abbreviated as TI. Headquartered in Dallas, Texas. The company's predecessor, Geophysical Service Inc., was established in 1938. The company's main business was the exploration of oil deposits on behalf of major oil companies, and the development and manufacture of the electronic equipment required for this. In 1951, the company name was changed to General Instruments Inc., and at the end of the same year, it changed to its current name.
