Sensitivity coefficient - Kandokeisu

...It refers to the degree to which an instrument or substance is sensitive to an external signal or stimulus, such as the sensitivity of a radio or film. In the case of a measuring instrument, it is the degree to which it is sensitive to changes in the quantity being measured, i.e., the measurand, and is quantitatively expressed by the sensitivity coefficient, deflection coefficient, or sensitivity limit. The sensitivity coefficient is the ratio of the change in the measuring instrument's indicated value to the change in the measurand, and the deflection coefficient is its reciprocal. For example, a voltage recorder whose pointer deflects 2 cm when the voltage is increased by 1 V has a sensitivity coefficient of 2 cm/V and a deflection coefficient of 0.5 V/cm.
