A Korean civil servant and poet in the mid-Yi dynasty. His pen name was Jihan and his pen name was Matsue. When the party strife, a major feature of the political history of the Yi dynasty, broke out, he was involved as the leader of the Western faction, and his political life was determined by the rise and fall of his party's strength. He rose to the position of Left State Councilor, but was sometimes exiled. In addition to his achievements as a politician, he left behind many excellent works as a poet of the first order in literary history. His collection of poems, Matsue Kaji, contains five kaji (Kanto Beokkyoku, Sibirin Kyoku, Zoku Bijin Kyoku, Seisan Beokkyoku, and Jangjin Shuji) and 84 sijo.

朝鮮，李朝中期の文臣，歌人。字は季涵，号は松江。李朝政治史上の大きな特徴である党争が起こったとき，西人派の頭目としてかかわり，党勢の浮沈によって政治生活が左右されていた。官は左議政まで登ったが，ときには流配の辛酸をなめている。政治家としての足跡に劣らず，文学史上第一級の歌人として優れた作品を多く残している。歌集《松江歌辞》には5編の歌辞(関東別曲，思美人曲，続美人曲，星山別曲，将進酒辞)と84首の時調が収録されている。
