A general term for New World monkeys belonging to the genus Callicebus in the family Capuchinidae of the order Primates. They are relatively small with long, soft fur, and are considered primitive among the Capuchin family along with the Night Monkey. Head and body length is 30-35cm. Three species are distinguished: the masked capuchin C. personatus , the dusky capuchin C. moloch (illustration), and the frilled capuchin C. torquatus . 霊長目オマキザル科ティティ属Callicebusに属する新世界ザルの総称。比較的小型で,長くて柔らかい毛をもち,ヨザルとともにオマキザル科の中では原始的なものと考えられている。頭胴長30~35cm。マスクティティC.personatus,ダスキーティティC.moloch(イラスト),エリマキティティC.torquatusの3種が区別される。南アメリカの熱帯降雨林に生息する樹上生活者で,果実,葉,昆虫などを食べる。
