In a broad sense, strawberry refers to perennial plants of the Rosaceae family, such as Rubus arbutus, Rubus nigricans, and Rubus arbutus, as well as deciduous shrubs (Rubus species) such as Rubus arbutus, Rubus nigricans, Rubus arbutus, Rubus arbutus, and Rubus arbutus. All of these are wild and non-toxic, and many are edible. In general, strawberry refers to the cultivated species, Rubus arbutus. It is said to be native to South America (the Chiloe Island in Chile), but was brought to Japan by the Dutch during the Tenpo era (around 1840). It grows by sending out numerous runners from an underground rhizome, and produces dense basal leaves with long stalks and trifoliate compound leaves. It produces white five-petaled flowers from spring to summer. The fruit is a false fruit with an enlarged flower bed, and the sesame-like grains on the surface are the true fruit, which are modified pistils. In addition to being eaten as is, the fruit is processed into ingredients for jams and sweets. It has been improved in various countries around the world, and there are many varieties.
