A village in Akan District, eastern Hokkaido. Located to the north of Kushiro City, it includes the wide, low marshland of the Kushiro Marsh and is known as a habitat for the Japanese Crane (a Special Natural Monument). In winter, the birds are fed, bred, and protected. In 1980, part of the Kushiro Marsh was registered as a Ramsar site. 571.80 km2 . 2,627 people (2010). 北海道東部，阿寒郡の村。釧路市の北隣で，釧路湿原の広い低湿地を含み，タンチョウ（特別天然記念物）の生息地として知られる。冬季は餌を与え，繁殖，保護が図られている。1980年に釧路湿原の一部がラムサール条約登録湿地となる。571.80km2。2627人（2010）。
