...All sources state that Doman was born in Harima, except for the "Hokisho" which states that he was born in Satsuma, and the "Hoso-ki" which states that he lived in the depths of Sayo-gun in the same province, with his descendants continuing his art in Aga and Miyake. Even today, there is an Ashiya Tomb in Miyake (Shikama Ward, Himeji City), and there is a man who claims to be Doman's youngest grandson, who is said to have originally lived in Nigata Village, Sayo-gun, but later moved to this area. According to old records, it can be confirmed that Ashiya Dokan, who gave medicine to Akamatsu Mitsusuke, as well as Ashiya Dosen, Dozen, Doken, and Dokai, who were active in the Muromachi period, lived in this area. ...

…道満の生国は，《簠簋抄》に薩摩国とする以外は，すべて播磨国とし，《峯相記》は同国佐用郡の奥に住し，後裔は英賀（あが）･三宅にあってその芸を継ぐとする。今日でも三宅(姫路市飾磨区)には蘆屋塚があって，道満の末孫を称する者がいて，もと佐用郡仁方村に住したが，のちこの地に移住したと伝える。古記録によれば，この地には赤松満祐に薬を与えた蘆屋道薫をはじめ，室町期に活躍した蘆屋道仙･道善･道軒･道海などが住したことが確認できる。…
