A Russian news agency. It was renamed from the former Soviet state news agency TASS in 1992 after the collapse of the Soviet Union. ITAR's English name is Information Telegraphic Agency of Russia. Media policy in the Soviet Union in the early 1990s was very chaotic. In June 1990, the newspaper law was passed, which proclaimed freedom of the press and the abolition of censorship, but in January 1991, it was suspended. TASS's position was also inconsistent. ITARの英語表記はInformation Telegraphic Agency of Russia。
