A district on the right bank of the lower Han River in the eastern part of Guangdong Province, China, belonging to Chaozhou City. A river port 42 km upstream from Shantou. A distribution center for goods on the lower Han River plain, traditional handicrafts such as embroidery and gold and silver work are thriving. It is also famous as the birthplace of the South Seas Chinese, who are particularly influential in Thailand. Han Mountain to the east is home to the temple of Han Yu. Population: 1.1 million (2014). 中国，広東省東部韓江下流右岸にある区で，潮州市に所属する。汕頭(スワトウ)の42km上流の河港。韓江下流平野の物資集散地で，刺繍(ししゅう)，金銀細工などの伝統的手工業が盛ん。また，特にタイで勢力が大きい南洋華僑(かきょう)の出身地として有名。東方の韓山には韓愈(かんゆ)の廟がある。110万人（2014）。
