Toxic psychosis

Japanese: 中毒性精神病 - ちゅうどくせいせいしんびょう(英語表記)toxic psychosis
Toxic psychosis
This is a general term for mental disorders that occur when a person intentionally or accidentally ingests large amounts of alcohol or other recreational substances, drugs, industrial chemicals, or poisonous mushrooms. It is generally a transient mental disorder accompanied by an acute physical reaction, and the main symptom is impaired consciousness, regardless of the physical symptoms. Depending on the severity of the impaired consciousness, symptoms such as manic-depressive state, hallucinations, and delusions may also occur. This state is common to the symptoms of psychosis (exogenous reaction type), a mental disorder based on a physical illness.
