Chushushu - Chushushu

Japanese:
Chushushu - Chushushu

A collection of poems from the Jin dynasty of China. 10 volumes in total. Compiled and written by Yuan Haowen. Completed in 1233 and published in 1249. Contains about 2000 poems by 249 people (not including those who survived in the final days of the Jin dynasty), and each person is accompanied by a short, well-rounded biography. Zhongzhou means China, and the book expresses the idea that the Jin dynasty is the rightful successor to Chinese civilization, in opposition to the Southern Song dynasty, and aims to praise that culture and pass it on to future generations. At the same time, the poems and short biographies are intermingled, making it possible to carry out a historical endeavor by revealing the deeds of the Jin dynasty that were being lost in the midst of war and the fall of the country, and leaving them for future generations. This method gave rise to several successor works in later generations. In the Qing dynasty, it was extensively revised by Guo Yuan and reborn as the Complete Jin Poems in 72 volumes.
