A type of meibutsu that indicates the rank of tea utensils. Chuko meibutsu can be said to be masterpieces selected by Kobori Enshu's aesthetic sense, but the term first appeared in Matsudaira Fumai's (Matsudaira Harusato) Kokin Meibutsu Ruiju. In the case of tea caddies, they were selected from Seto kilns and Kuniyaki wares that came after Karamono and Koseto, and items that were not included in the Omeibutsu were also included as a matter of beauty standards. Sources include Enshu Kuracho, Yawata Meibutsu, Tsuchiya Kuracho, Senke Meibutsu, and Unshu Kuracho. They are collections made after Sen no Rikyu, and if Omeibutsu are considered Karamono, then this is the world of Wamono (domestic products).
