〘Noun〙① A type of ship built mainly in the Ise region from the end of the Middle Ages to the mid-modern period. Characterized by a box-shaped bow in a Todate style , it was widely used as a cheap ship or large cargo ship. From the mid-modern period onwards, it was inferior to the Futanari and Bezai ships in terms of sailing performance and economy and almost disappeared, so the Futanari ships came to be confused with it. Ise-zukuri. *Shinsen Rokujo (c. 1244) 3 "The Ise ship, unable to row any longer, is stranded in the flowing river at Shihomukafuono Minato (Fujiwara Mitsutoshi)"② Another name for the Utsumi ships and Kaise-bune ships that were common in Noma, Uchiumi, Tokoname and other areas along Ise Bay on the Chita Peninsula from the end of the Edo period to the Meiji period .
