Central Plains Koguryo Monument

Japanese: 中原高句麗碑 - ちゅうげんこうくりひ

A stone monument from the Three Kingdoms period of Goguryeo discovered in 1979 in Yongjeon-ri, Gageum-myeon, Jungwon-gun, Chungcheongbuk-do, Korea. The monument is a square stone pillar made of granite, measuring approximately 135cm in height, 56cm in width, and 37cm in thickness. On the front, there are 10 lines of inscriptions, starting with the 23 characters in the first line, "In May, the great King Jo of Goryeo returns to Silla in the name of the king of Silla, and wishes for brothers and sisters." On the left side, there are 7 lines of inscriptions of 23 characters each. Of the total 391 characters, about 244 characters have been deciphered. Seven characters have also been deciphered on the right side, making it highly likely that this monument, along with the undeciphered back side, was a four-sided monument.

韓国，忠清北道中原郡可金面竜田里の立石部落で1979年に発見された，三国時代高句麗の石碑。碑石は花コウ岩を使った四角石柱形を呈し，大きさはおよそ高さ135cm，幅56cm，厚さ37cm。前面には，第1行目の〈五月中高麗大王祖王令還新羅寐錦世世為願如兄如弟〉の23字に始まり10行，ついで左側面には同じく23字で7行まで銘文が残っているが，計391字分のうち，約244字が判読された。また，右側面でも7字分が判読されており，未判読の後面とともに，四面碑であった可能性が強い。
