Dressing ceremony - impositio habitus
A term used in the Catholic Church. A ceremony in which candidates are given the uniform of their order before officially starting their novitiate in female religious orders or male religious orders with religious garb. They receive the uniform blessed in the church and promise to observe poverty, chastity, obedience, etc. during their novitiate. This ceremony is especially grand in female monasteries.
