Dressing ceremony - impositio habitus

A term used in the Catholic Church. A ceremony in which candidates are given the uniform of their order before officially starting their novitiate in female religious orders or male religious orders with religious garb. They receive the uniform blessed in the church and promise to observe poverty, chastity, obedience, etc. during their novitiate. This ceremony is especially grand in female monasteries. カトリック教会用語。女子修道会や修道服を有する男子修道会において，正式に修練期を始めるに先立って志願者にその会の制服が授けられる式。聖堂で祝福された制服を受け，修練期間中，清貧，貞潔，従順などを守る約束をする。特に女子修道院では盛大に行われる。
