Chit'ap-ri Ruins

Japanese: 智塔里遺跡 - ちとうりいせき（英語表記）Chit'ap-ri

A representative site of the Marked Pottery Period located in Jita-ri, Bongsan-gun, North Hwanghae-do, North Korea. It was surveyed in 1957. It is divided into Area 1 and Area 2, and some differences can be seen between the pottery found in the two areas. One square pit dwelling site was discovered in Area 1, and two pit dwelling sites were discovered in Area 2. Carbonized grains were found at Area 2 Dwelling Site No. 2, and numerous stone tools that appear to be agricultural tools (stone hoes, stone shovels, stone sickles) were also excavated, suggesting that field farming was practiced during the period when the Marked Pottery was produced.

北朝鮮黄海北道鳳山郡智塔里にある有文土器時代の代表的遺跡。 1957年に調査された。第1地区と第2地区に分れ，両地区から発見された土器の間に若干の相違が認められる。第1地区では方形の竪穴住居址1棟，第2地区では2棟の竪穴住居址が発見された。第2地区第2号住居址からは炭化した穀粒が発見され，また多数の農具と思われる石器 (石鋤，石鍬，石鎌) が出土しているので，有文土器のある時期には畑作農業が行われていたと考えられる。
