A general term for minerals that contain titanium. There are many types of titanium minerals, with approximately 90 species. These are mainly oxide minerals, hydroxide minerals, and silicate minerals, and titanium often exists in the oxidation state of Ti4 ⁺ in these minerals. Titanium is contained in the continental crust at an average of 0.9% by weight, which is the ninth most abundant element in the continental crust after O, Si, Al, Fe, Ca, Mg, Na, and K. In igneous rocks, titanium exists as Fe-Ti-O minerals, titanite, and spheneCaTiO( _SiO4 ) (also called wedgestone), and is also found in colored minerals such as biotite, amphibole, and pyroxene.

チタンを含む鉱物の総称。チタン鉱物の種類は多く，約90種に達する。これらは主として酸化鉱物，水酸化鉱物，ケイ酸塩鉱物であるが，これらの鉱物中でチタンは多くの場合Ti^4＋の酸化状態で存在する。チタンは平均して大陸地殻中に0.9重量％含まれ，大陸地殻を構成している元素としては，O,Si,Al,Fe,Ca,Mg,Na,Kに次いで第9番目に位置するほど多量に含まれている。チタンは火成岩中ではFe‐Ti‐O系鉱物やチタン石titanite,spheneCaTiO(SiO₄)(くさび石ともいう)として存在し，また，黒雲母，角セン石，輝石などの有色鉱物中にも含まれている。
