...(3) Methods for preventing water leakage: The kettle step method (Fig. f) uses water pressure to prevent the expansion of the leakage opening in the ground inside the levee and drains the water so that the inside of the levee does not become filled with water, the Tsukinawa method, which is similar to the kettle step method, the packed dohyo method, which packs the leakage opening on the river surface with a mat, the matting method, which covers the leakage surface on the river surface with mat (also used to prevent scouring), etc. (4) Methods for preventing the collapse of the back slope: The standing gabion method, which covers the back slope with gabions, the pile-driving stacking dohyo method, which drives piles into the back slope and places a mat in the middle, the matting stacking method, which stacks the mat on the back slope, and the tsuchimawashi method. (5) Methods for dealing with cracks: For cracks on the top of the building, bamboo is inserted near both shoulders and bent to connect them (Fig. g); a hold-back method is used when the crack extends from the top of the building to the back of the building; a trivet stitching method is used to drive several bamboo poles into the ground between the cracks and tie them down; and a cage stopper method is used to drive stakes into the back of the building in a diamond shape and sew them together with bamboo and iron wire.
