Cadastre - Chiseki

This is the equivalent of a land register. Originally, land is connected and cannot be counted. However, when land becomes the subject of ownership and trading, it is artificially divided. The location, characteristics, and ownership relationship of these divided pieces of land (counted as one plot, two plots, etc.) are collectively called the cadastral register. In the land registry, a parcel number is assigned to each parcel, and the owner is recorded along with its land use, land area (surface area), and location, thereby clarifying the cadastral register.

土地の戸籍にあたるもの。元来、土地はつながっているものであり、それを数えることはできない。しかし、土地が所有の対象となり、取引の対象となるときに、土地は人為的に区分される。その区分された土地（一筆、二筆と数える）の位置・形質・所有関係を総称して地籍という。土地の登記簿には、一筆ごとに地番がつけられ、その地目・地積（面積）・所在地とともに、所有者が記載されるから、それによって地籍が明らかにされる。
