Born on June 1, 8th year of the Kyoho era. Son of Nakamikado Nobusato. Became provisional Dainagon (chief minister of state) in 6th year of the Horeki era (1756). Studied Shinto and Confucianism under Takeuchi Shikibu, and was suspended from his post and placed under permanent house arrest for his involvement in the Horeki Incident in 8th year of the Horeki era. Later he was pardoned and engaged in waka poetry. Died on September 18th, 9th year of the An'ei era (1777). Age 58. His original name was Kiyotane.
