A medieval and early modern samurai family whose main family home was Awa. A veteran of the Satomi clan. A branch of the Miura clan in Sagami Province. It began in the late 15th century when Miura Tokitaka's son Tokitsuna fled to Awa Province after being pursued by Tokitsuna's adopted son Miura Yoshiatsu, and hid in Masaki-go, Heguri (Masaki, Nago-cho, Tateyama City), where he was protected by the Satomi clan. Satomi Yoshimichi married his sister to Tokitsuna, gave her land in Masaki-go and Nagasa, and had her live in Yamanoshiro (Mineoka Higashimaki, Kamogawa City). Tokitsuna's second son, Tokishige, saved Satomi Yoshitaka (Yoshimichi's nephew) in 1534 (Tenbun 3) and defeated Yoshitoyo (Yoshimichi's son), and also fought in the Battle of Konodai, demonstrating his military fame.
