A city in the Sakha Republic in eastern Russia. A port city overlooking Tiksi Bay on the Laptev Sea, it is the northern gate of Yakutia. It is close to the mouth of the Lena River and serves as a transshipment point for cargo transported by water on the Lena River and cargo transported by sea. It was established in 1934 as part of the development of the Northern Sea Route. There is an airport. ロシア東部,サハ共和国の都市。ラプテフ海のチクシ湾にのぞむ港湾都市で,ヤクートの北の門である。レナ川の河口に近く,レナ川の水運で運ばれてきた貨物と海路運ばれてきた貨物の積替え地となっている。 1934年北洋航路開発に伴ってつくられた。空港がある。
