Lunato malacia

Japanese: 月状骨軟化症 - げつじょうこつなんかしょう（英語表記）lunato malacia

The main lesion is avascular necrosis of the lunate bone, one of the eight carpal bones that form the wrist joint, and was reported in 1910 by Robert Kienböck (1871-1953), an Austrian radiologist. As a result of Kienböck's detailed report of the clinical features and X-ray findings, this disease came to be called Kienböck's disease. It is seen in men aged 20 to 40, and is common among workers who heavily use their hands, such as carpenters.

手首の関節を形づくっている8個の手根骨のうちの一つである月状骨の阻血性壊死が主病変で，オーストリアの放射線医であるキーンベックRobert Kienböck(1871‐1953)により1910年に報告された。キーンベックの臨床像，X線所見の詳細な報告の結果，この病気はキーンベック病Kienböck’s diseaseともいわれるようになった。20～40歳の男子にみられ，大工など手を酷使する労働者に多い。
