Dalarna - Darana (English spelling)

A region in central Sweden. English name is Dalecarlia. It is located in the northwest of Svealand. It has an area of ​​29,237 square kilometers and a population of 277,010 (2001). The northwest is a mountainous region bordering Norway by the Scandinavian Mountains, and the southeast is a hilly region dotted with Lake Besman and Lake Run. It produces iron, copper, tin, and other materials, and has a well-developed industry, as well as thriving dairy farming and forestry. It is known as the place where the first Swedish king, Vasa, raised the flag of independence from Denmark, and the area around Lake Siljan still retains many ruins and traditional culture.
