Princess Tamayori

Japanese:
Princess Tamayori
(In ancient times, she was also called "Tamayori-bime." "Tama" means soul, and "Yori" means to possess.) In the Kojiki and Nihon Shoki myths, she is the daughter of the sea god. After her elder sister, Toyotama-hime, gave birth to Hikonagisatakauezu- no-mikoto, the son of Ame-no-son Hikohohodemi-no-mikoto , and passed away, she raised the child. She later married Hikonagisatakauezu-no-mikoto, whom she had raised, and is said to have given birth to four boys, including Kamu Yamato Iwarehiko -no- mikoto (Emperor Jimmu). *Nihonki Kyoen Waka Poetry - Engi 6th year (906) "In the unknown, the fate of Tamayorihime was endowed on the shoreline (Oe no Senko) ." [Additional information] This name also appears in the Kojiki and Nihonshoki as the son of Takamimusubi no Kami's daughter , Manzuhatatoyoakitsuhime , and in the legend of Kamo Shrine cited in the Itsumon Yamashiro Fudoki as the mother who conceived Kamo Wakeikazuchi no Mikoto with a red-lacquered arrow. Perhaps it originally meant the ordinary noun miko (shrine maiden) .
