Japanese: 立山[町] - たてやま

The town occupies the area of Nakaniikawa County, Toyama Prefecture, from the eastern Toyama Plain to near Harinoki Pass on the border with Nagano Prefecture. It includes Kurobe Gorge, the Tateyama mountain range, and the right bank of the Jōganji River. The central settlement, Gohyakkoku, has been a market town since ancient times, and Iwakuraji and Ashikuraji at the mouth of the valley are centers of faith in Tateyama, and are famous as the base for climbing Mt. Tateyama and settlements for mountain guides. It is served by the Toyama Chiho Railway Tateyama Line and the Hokuriku Expressway. Area: ^{307.29 km2} . Population: 27,466 (2010).

富山県中新川(なかにいかわ)郡，富山平野東部から長野県境の針ノ木峠付近までを占める町。黒部峡谷，立山連峰，常願寺川の右岸一帯を含む。中心集落の五百石(ごひゃっこく)は古くからの市場町，谷口にある岩峅寺(いわくらじ)，芦峅寺(あしくらじ)は立山信仰の中心で，立山登山基地，山案内人の集落として有名。富山地方鉄道立山線，北陸自動車道が通じる。307.29km²。２万7466人（2010）。
