A Vietnamese nationalist organization founded in 1904 by Phan Boi Chau and others, aiming for independence and a constitutional monarchy. In 1905, Chau came to Japan and started a movement for people to study in Japan (the Dong Zu Movement), hoping for support from Japan, but the Japanese and French authorities suppressed it, and the movement disappeared in 1909. Chau and others later organized the Vietnam Liberation Association in Guangdong. Source: Obunsha World History Dictionary, Third Edition About Obunsha World History Dictionary, Third Edition |
