Ara (Hata) - Ara

…More than 60 species are known from the waters around Japan, of which nearly 40 are from the genus Epinephelus, a typical grouper. In western Japan, mainly in the Kansai region, groupers are generally called mas or ara. In English, they are generally called sea bass or grouper.
