A village in Yamagata County in southwestern Gifu Prefecture. Population 3,257 (1995). A mountain village in the Ijira River basin, a tributary of the Nagara River. It consists of a small complex alluvial fan and hilly mountain range along the main branch of the Ijira River. In the Middle Ages it belonged to Ijira Manor, a branch of the Chokodo Domain, and in the early modern period it was part of Owari Domain, Tenryo Domain, and Hatamoto Domain, and paper was produced there. The main industry is agriculture, with rice as the main focus, as well as livestock farming, wheat, and vegetable cultivation. In recent years, the woodworking furniture manufacturing industry has been growing. Upstream of the Ijira River are Kannamiji Temple and a campsite, and a group of cave-in burial mounds were discovered in the Daimon area. 岐阜県南西部,山県(やまがた)郡の村。人口3257(1995)。長良川の支流伊自良川流域の山村。伊自良川本支流沿いの小規模な複合扇状地と丘陵性の山地から成る。中世は長講堂領伊自良荘に属し,近世は尾張藩領,天領,旗本領などで,紙の生産が行われた。基幹産業は農業で,米作を中心に畜産や麦,野菜の栽培が行われる。近年,木工家具製造業がのびている。伊自良川上流には甘南美寺,キャンプ場などがあり,大門地区では横穴式古墳群が発見された。
