An old town in Nomi County, southern Ishikawa Prefecture. Occupying the lowlands and hills on the left bank of the downstream Tedori River, rice cultivation is thriving, as is silk and rayon weaving. In recent years, cutting-edge industries have been moving into the area. Tatsunoguchi Onsen has been known since the Edo period, and is a salt-containing saltwater spring with temperatures of 26-48°C. In February 2005, it merged with Neagari Town and Terai Town in Nomi County to become a city, forming Nomi City. 57.13 ^km2 . Population: 14,202 (2003).

石川県南部，能美(のみ)郡の旧町。手取(てどり)川下流左岸の低地と丘陵を占め，米作が盛んで，絹・人絹織物業も行われる。近年は，先端産業の立地が進んでいる。辰ノ口温泉は江戸時代から知られ，含食塩ボウ硝泉，26〜48℃。2005年２月能美郡根上町，寺井町と合併し市制，能美市となる。57.13km²。１万4202人（2003）。
