Akihide Mishina

Japanese: 三品彰英 - みしなあきひで

1902-1971 An ancient history scholar from the Showa era.
Born on July 5, 1902. Studied the ancient history of Japan and Korea through comparative mythology and empirical examination of traditional culture. After serving as professor at the Naval Engineering School, Otani University, and Doshisha University, he became director of the Osaka City Museum in 1960. Died on December 19, 1971, aged 69. Born in Shiga Prefecture. Graduated from Kyoto Imperial University. His works include "Considerations on the Founding Myth" and "Study of Silla Hwarang."

明治35年7月5日生まれ。比較神話学,伝承文化の実証的考察により,日本と朝鮮の古代史を研究。海軍機関学校,大谷大,同志社大の教授をへて,昭和35年大阪市立博物館長となった。昭和46年12月19日死去。69歳。滋賀県出身。京都帝大卒。著作に「建国神話論考」「新羅花郎の研究」など。
