Born on July 5, 1902. Studied the ancient history of Japan and Korea through comparative mythology and empirical examination of traditional culture. After serving as professor at the Naval Engineering School, Otani University, and Doshisha University, he became director of the Osaka City Museum in 1960. Died on December 19, 1971, aged 69. Born in Shiga Prefecture. Graduated from Kyoto Imperial University. His works include "Considerations on the Founding Myth" and "Study of Silla Hwarang."
